School Water Testing

Testing water quality in schools, particularly for lead, is essential for the safety of students and staff. Although federal regulations do not require lead testing in school drinking water, many states have established programs that may be mandatory or voluntary. An increasing number of these states require testing to be conducted at various intervals. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends testing for lead, and if levels exceed 15 parts per billion (ppb), appropriate actions should be taken to reduce lead contamination.
